Elisa Aiassa is an Italian painter who transforms matter with an alchemical touch, creating works of art that reveal the beauty of metamorphosis. The number 3 is the leitmotif of her material and pictorial creations.
The work "Angel" is composed of two canvases depicting a pair of wings, a symbol of spirituality and lightness, made with mixed media. The wings emerge in relief thanks to the use of acrylic, paper, bark and natural stones, which give a tactile and material dimension to the composition. The natural materials recall the connection between the earthly and the divine, while the details of the wings evoke a sensation of movement and ascension.
Symbolic elements enrich the work: on the left canvas, at the bottom, two playing cards are inserted - a three of hearts and an ace of hearts - while on the other canvas an eight of hearts appears. These cards add a component of mystery and personal interpretation, suggesting themes of love, destiny and transformation. "Angel" thus becomes a complex and poetic representation of the connection between the earthly and spiritual worlds, inviting the viewer to reflect on the invisible forces that guide our existence.
